
Jazmine was a Philadelphia native was raised and born there. Her mother Pam was a backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, her father was appointed as curator for the Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family eventually moved into this historic property. She graduated in 2005 of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was singing music major. Sullivan started singing in children's chorus as a contralto, later she joined the adult choir only a few years later. His exposure to secular music was at first limited "I was doing solos in the church, and I was asked to join a gospel label when I had turned eleven, however I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. "I was fortunate enough to be selected for in a McDonald's competitionthat offered students from big cities the opportunity to perform 'Accept whatever God wills'. The audience responded to the song well." At the age 13 she performed along to Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday. Sullivan made her first signing with Jive Records when she was 15. She was signed to Jive Records around the age of 15. She produced an entire album but this album didn't get released. Sullivan was later dropped from the label. Missy Elliott was the producer on several tracks from their debut album. The most notable of these was "Backstabbers" from Timbaland the track that Elliott produced, was Sullivan's favorite track.
