| Anna Paquin has been a New Zealand-Canadian TV and film actress for more than 20 years. Her films include The PianoFly Away Home and X-Men. Her fate had other plans. The actress turned down a lot of opportunities she was offered following her film's debut's success in order to concentrate on her studies. At the age of 14 she returned to the film industry by accepting roles in Jane Eyreand Fly Away Home.In 2000 she played the strong mutant Roguein The X-Men, the first film in the X-Menfilms series. This role catapulted her to worldwide fame. The actress reprised her role as Roguein sequels such as X2and X-Men The Last Stand.She has also had small screen appearances notably as Elaine Goodalein Bury My Heart at Wounded Kneefor which she received her first Emmynomination.
