Tina Louise is a popular American author, performer and actress, best known for her role as Ginger Grant in the 1960s the television show Gilligan's Island. The actress began her career as a stage actor in the 1950s starting with Two's Company a musical by Bettle Davis. Later, she appeared in numerous Broadway performances before becoming an international star together with Li'l Abner, in the year 1957. Also, she released her debut music album, It's Time For Tina within the same year. Louise began her journey into Hollywood acting as Griselda Walden, a character from God's Small Acre, a dramatic film that debuted in 1958.The film received a crow's-foot of acclaim as well as Louise got the Golden Globe Award in the New Star of the Year category. Louise enrolled in Actors Studio, New York during this period and became Lee Strasberg's pupil. In 1964, she was offered her next notable role when CBS signed her to portray Ginger Grant. Louise did not stop juggling her acting career from Broadway as well as Hollywood, portraying more somber role as opposed her perception of being an glamor girl.
